  • The technological process of hot metal processing is carried out at high pressure and temperature in the contact zone with hot metal. Friction and wear data are required to estimate tool life. The high-temperature tribometer DUCOM MFT 1.0 is designed to simulate conditions close to real ones.

    The working fluid is a steel plate. The gripping system clamps the strip into a vise, which holds the plate firmly at both ends during testing. A high voltage current is supplied to the plate, as a result of which the plate is heated to a predetermined temperature. The counterbody consists of pins (fingers) and can be heated independently of the working fluid. As soon as the sample and counterbody reach the specified temperature, the experiment begins. If necessary, the suspension can be used at any time to cool and lubricate surfaces. The pins clamp the plate with a specified load Fn and begin to move along the length of the working fluid.

    At the end of the test cycle, the strip is unloaded and the installation is ready for the next test cycle. The cycle stops when all the plates required for the required sliding length have been used.

    The DUCOM MFT 1.0 installation is available upon individual order. The design and manufacture of the installation is carried out in close contact with the customer, which allows us to take into account all the individual requirements of the laboratory.

      System operation control:

      Parameters for conducting research are built into the program. It includes test load (Fn), sliding speed (v), strip temperature (Ts), tool temperature (Tt), number of strips tested and coolant cycle details. The software allows you to conduct research automatically.
