SHAR-DISK-01
The test stand "TRIBOTEST "BALL-DISK-01" implements the most common scheme for comparative tests of materials for friction and wear - pin on disk. Sometimes a ball is used. In English literature this scheme is called Pin on Disc and Ball on Disc.
A disk made of the material under study rotates at a constant speed, and a force from the weight of the loads presses on a stationary pin (ball).
In terms of widespread use, this is the most common scheme for laboratory testing of materials for friction. This allows your test results to be compared with results obtained from other laboratories.
The test bench is designed to test materials for friction and wear in accordance with the international standard ASTM G99.
What materials can be tested- The stand is used for testing structural materials and coatings for friction and wear. At the same time, the frictional properties of materials (based on the friction coefficient) and wear resistance are assessed. The methodology for assessing the tribological properties of materials under dry friction conditions is established by the ASTM G99 standard.
- The stand is equipped with a bath for conducting experiments in liquid. You can evaluate how materials behave in liquids of various compositions.
- The stand allows you to evaluate the lubricating properties of plastic lubricants operating under boundary friction conditions.
- The stand allows you to test coatings for service life according to the friction coefficient criterion.
StandardsThe methodology for testing materials and coatings for friction and wear under dry friction conditions is established by the ASTM G99 standard “Standard Test Method for Wear Testing with a Pin-on-Disk Apparatus”.
The equipment has been certified by a Russian accredited metrological center for compliance with the above methodology.
AutomationThe stand is controlled using a touch monitor. The process of starting and stopping the stand is automated. When testing coatings for service life according to the friction coefficient criterion, the stand will automatically stop if the specified maximum value is exceeded.
During testing, friction coefficient data is recorded and written to a file with *.csv or *.xls resolution.
